[PD] MIDI Interface problem on Mac OS X 10.4

Hello all,
I was testing out my midi interface with [midiin] (and yes, it does warn
that it only works on Linux, but it does appear somewhat to work on the
Mac). The problem that I am seeing is that when I have something connected
to the first input port of my MT4 interface, it gets reported as coming from
Port 2. Also, when I try to send something out of [midiout], it will get
sent out the second port by default.

Is MIDI support on the Mac limited in this way? Or do others not have this
problem? I am running on a G4 Laptop, OS X 10.4.
