a short look at the patch did not reveal anything spectacular that 
actually might crash Gem.
how did you investigate? (just not loading Gem and everything works?)

what i don't like in the patch, is that it starts off as soon as it is 
loaded (imagine somebody has connected their dac to something loud) - 
btw, what's the point of embedding the testtone-patch and autostart it?

so: does it also crash when you run pd with "-noloadbang"?
does it also crash when you create a gemwindow before loading the patch?
