[PD] ALSA + Edirol UA-25 not working under Fedora 9

Hi:

Foolishly, I upgraded my perfectly configured workstation from Fedora 5
to Fedora 9. Since then I've been struggling to regain my position.

I was happily using my Edirol UA-25 under ALSA with Pd, but now that
doesn't work. It gives a perplexing error message. Perhaps someone has
seen it. Thanks for looking.

Best,
David

oops: ALSA cards not reported in order?

When I try to switch to UA-25 (plug-in), I get the following error
messages:

ALSA lib pcm_hw.c:1240:(_snd_pcm_hw_open) Invalid value for card
snd_pcm_open (input): No such file or directory
ALSA lib pcm_hw.c:1240:(_snd_pcm_hw_open) Invalid value for card
snd_pcm_open (output): No such file or directory

However,

aplay -v -D plughw:UA25 foo.wav

works fine.

Also, ALSA works with the NVidia card in Pd.

System Configuration:

Pd version 0.41.4
