General pointer here.... Are there any articles you especially like?
Track down recent articles on the subjects you want and make a list of
researchers/artists who wrote them.  Keep an open mind for extensions
of their research, and you just might find your preference for topics
in the process, too.  It's sometimes a good idea to contact the person
you want to be your advisor ahead of time, too--that way you can find
out about availability, when admission happens, and talk about
research.
