[PD] Ubuntu cli, jack errors ... help!

Howdy,

I recently did a fresh install of Ubuntu 8.04 minimal and Pd
0.40.3-ubuntu-hardy on my wearable machine.

Pd in -nogui mode crashes when using jack with the following errors:
error: JACK error: cannot complete execution of the processing graph (%
s)
error: JACK error: zombified - calling shutdown handler

Jack and alsa work fine with the sound card on this machine as well as
pd in -nogui mode on
my laptop.

Ohhh this is bad timing, I'm supposed to play this weekend. If anyone
can give me a clue, I'd
be grateful!
