[PD] How install pool in Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10

Hi list,
I just installed Linux (gutsy 7.10) on my computer, but for me it is totally
new and I am totally lost!!
I want to install pool from Thomas Grill, that is implemented to work with
sssad in my whole patch.
I downloaded the source from flext but I don't even know what "compile"
means and how to do it.All what I read about it is like chineese for me, so
if somebody would have the patience to point me on the right direction
explaining it like for a baby (that I am in this program's world), it would
be fantastic!
