[PD] compiling in osx 10.4

You need to install XCode and the whole Apple development tools.  Its  
best to use the latest version from Apple, which you can download from  
developer.apple.com, I think.

After that, then it depends on which sources you want to build.  I  
don't think anyone is really using XCode much.
