You're right. It turned out that this was the cause of my troubles.

I remember having had to install libdts-dev, which was not detected by
./configure script. During 'make' i got something like:

Error: dts.h: no such file or directory

The rest is indeed easy

I really shouldn't have mixed packaged binaries with self-compiled versions.

I hear you. I don't think that is necessary anymore with your guide :-)
