[PD] hid osx 10_6 / channel mapping

hey there,

i'm currently working with usb sensor box, that i read in PD using the 
[hid] object. it worked totally cool with four sensor channels, but when 
i added another 4, the 8th channel didn't show up.

this seems to be the case, because the 8th channel gets mapped to 
abs_ry, while the 5th channel already gets assigned abs_ry, if declared 
absolute.

i can change the name in source code -- and probably eventually compile 
it -- the problem is, that for portablity and ease of installation, the 
whole thing should run on a PD-extendend package.

so can i work around this somehow? like, can i get [hid] to output raw 
channel numbers instead of symbolic names?
