[PD] strange behaviour of bp~ for high center frequencies

Hi,

By playing around with bp~ I've realised that the center frequency can't 
be raised above 1/4 of the Nyquist frequency (unless it is some "magic 
number" about 11000). If you raise the center frequency above that, it 
seems that the actual center frequency sticks to that value and the gain 
of the filter grows.

Is there some "natural" reason for that??
