I can only get two channels working at a time whilst using ASIO and only 8 whilst using the standard driver. So far I've been working in windows xp, but I am going to try linux tomorrow. From a bit of digging it seems a few people on this list use MADI with pure data.

here at iem we have migrated a lot of our fixed installed computers to MADI.
the platforms are mainly linux (and OSX), where i haven't encountered
any unusual problems yet (running both with JACK and ALSA)

i'll have to investigate on the w32 side of things (i'm pretty sure we
got it working, but most - if not all - of my colleagues working with
w32 are currently at some conference and won't be back before next week...)
