well, "dialog" will only give you something meaningfull, if the used  
backend will provide a dialog-window.
read: on w32 and osx, you should get a dialog, whereas on linux you  
will get none, as the backends (e.g. v4l2) don't know anything about  
GUI but are rather concentrating on the grabbing.
