[PD] sqrt~ problem in Pd-extended?

Nightly auto-build Pd-0.43.1-extended-20111004-windowsxp-i386 on Windows 7.

example: \doc\7.stuff\soundfile-tools\6.vocoder.pd,
\extra\vanilla\sqrt~-help.pd etc.

It looks like this was a known bug in the past and fixed at some point,
having now returned?

Is there a workaround?
