I think he is referring to the version of qjackctl which in fact on
squeeze is 0.3.6.
Forrest: to see the version of jack (not the QJackControl gui) try the
following command in a terminal:
jackd --version

You can also do this within Pd itself, by making sure you select Media
-> Jack Here you can also set the input and output channels, maybe start
with something like 2 to begin with.
As IOhannes suggested do make sure jack is running *before* you start pd.
