[PD] which is the more reliable object to load a gif?

I use ggee/image on my clicktracker
(http://code.google.com/p/clicktracker/), and on my patch to control
ardour from Pd (in my extra folder from version 0.43). So far I've seen it
works in Win, Ubuntu and OsX.
