i assume(!) that you are running linux and compiled Gem yourself.
it seems that you compiled Gem against a 0.43 version of Pd, but then
use it with an older version of Pd.
you should use the same version (or a newer one) of Pd that provided the
Pd-headers when compiling Gem.
