[PD] pd~ issue (path spaces)

Dear list/Miller.

[pd~] just never worked for me. But I flooded my CPU over 100% and
definitely need it. So I found out what was preventing me from enjoying its
wonders. If your patch is in anywhere on the computer, in which any of the
folders in the path has a space in it - lets say [ /Documents/patch
v3/patch.pd ] - the pd~ object just won't work.

You probably know about this pretty well. And I'd just like to ask why is
it so? Can it be "fixed".

Yep, I'm in Mac Os 10.6.8
