GF 9.11 (and some versions before) had both binary tarballs and source 
tarballs. That's because we had figured that building binary tarballs was 
easier than trying to make debs for every release that happened every 6 
months in the last N years. But we weren't so sure about it. Claude 
offered Launchpad packages for 3 dists and or 2 platforms. It was good 
news, but it only happened once. After that, for 9.13, I spent a whole day 
on Launchpad stuff with Patrick Boivin, and we were not able to finish 
producing any deb file.
