[PD] how to compile Pd-ext 43 without SSE2?

i would like to build Pd-ext 43.1 for my PIII, i.e. without SSE2 support,
but on a bit faster machine.
i've looked in the makefile's, however i cannot figure out where and how to
set a parameter for it.
