[PD] Wierdness: patch stops opening or saving files

Hi all,

I've had some quite strange things happen to me, the closer I get to finishing this score I'm working on.
First the patch becomes unable to load the .score files (just text files actually) into [msgfile] (first image) - this happens only when I have connected up a mechanism that allows Pd to automatically generate an event when the current one is finished (event feedback, but there are delays so it's not really stack overflow). After this happens I can no longer save the Pd patch, and I get the message "too many open files".

A more detailed output from the Pd window is enclosed. The strange thing is, it works for a while, then the bug happens where it cannot load or save files.
