debian lacks the handy package-suggestion feature that most ubuntu
users are familiar with, so you have to find the package providing a
given binary yourself.

if you are online, something like this will usually give you an idea
which package you should install:
http://packages.debian.org/file:debuild

if you don't want to use a browser, try the "apt-file" package.
