[PD] remove commas from list, logic of make_my_list

Hi all,
I'm working on a patch that is getting a stream of comma separated values
from an Arduino device. Is there an easy way to remove them? Right now I am
using the comport object and associated objects. I have modified the
following subpatch, but the commas are getting pointlessly sent to a
downstream unpack object.

If anyone would care to explain what's going on here in this bit of magic
as well, that would also be awespme.
