for audio mixing to replace an analogue mixer you are probably better off 
looking at ardour, or any other digital audio workstation.

You can of course mix audio in pd, there are many objects to help you, no need 
for extended ... the help menu of any pd will show you examples, the 
documentation (in the help menu) will explain more.
