i'm pretty sure that the message-box does *not* have a bug.

what comes to my mind, is that you cannot mix symbols and numbers in
[route].
e.g. this won't work:
[value1 foo, value2 2.3, 4 knarz(
|
[route value1 value2 4]

however, i might be totally off. maybe it would help if you provided
an actually non-working patch* rather than a textual description of
something that "sometimes works"?
