@Joe White sorry I actually made a mistake in my answer before. I forgot
that using CORS you should be able to get cross-origin resources with AJAX.
So the soundfiler should be able to get sounds from e.g. soundcloud.
However, it probably needs a few tweaks for this. I added an issue :
