[PD] license when converting a pd patch to a C code pd external?

[i go bananas]

I just made an external by copying the signal flow of someone else's pd
patch, and i'm wondering what the implications are with the way i can
license my external?  Do i have to follow the license the original patch
was under?  Or is converting the whole working into a different language
enough that my external will be considered a new entity?
