this is the format that Pd messages are transmitted in.
it is not a bug, but called FUDI

both applications (e.g. Pd and VLC) need to speak the same protocol in
order to communicate. to make [netsend] not speak FUDI but any arbitrary
protocol, use the 'raw' mode (as jack has pointed out)
