Dear Iohannes,
actually making $ file gigaverb~.pd_darwin I obtain:

gigaverb~.pd_darwin: Mach-O universal binary with 2 architectures
gigaverb~.pd_darwin (for architecture i386): Mach-O bundle i386
gigaverb~.pd_darwin (for architecture x86_64): Mach-O 64-bit bundle x86_64

and even with zexy library (always file z~.pd_darwin):

z~.pd_darwin: Mach-O universal binary with 3 architectures
z~.pd_darwin (for architecture i386): Mach-O bundle i386
z~.pd_darwin (for architecture ppc): Mach-O bundle ppc
z~.pd_darwin (for architecture x86_64): Mach-O 64-bit bundle x86_64

Anyway, if I go in the bundle (/Applications/Pd.app/Contents/MacOS) I get:

Pd: Mach-O universal binary with 2 architectures
Pd (for architecture i386): Mach-O executable i386
Pd (for architecture ppc): Mach-O executable ppc

This is my situation. If I can do something more let me know.

Best,

Marco

Ps. I just downloaded the lastest 64 bit version to check:

MMMarkidis:~ dis$ cd Downloads/Pd-0.47-1-64bit.app/Contents/MacOS/

MMMarkidis:MacOS dis$ file *

Pd: Mach-O universal binary with 2 architectures

Pd (for architecture i386): Mach-O executable i386

Pd (for architecture ppc): Mach-O executable ppc

MMMarkidis:MacOS dis$
