would make a lot of sense because it would complement the recently added 'delete' method.


a little feature request from my side:

when you set a line with the line number out of range, the line gets appended.
it would be nice if the same thing could work for fields. negative field numbers would still replace the whole line, but positive field numbers out of range would append fields. since the operation is currently illegal ("text set: field number (N) past end of line"), introducing this feature shouldn't break existing patches.
