this (that you cannot do bi-directional communication with a
connectionless protocol like UDP) is a common misconception found in the
computer music world (and probably in other bubbles as well, but i don't
follow those closely).
luckily it is not, else there DNS-system wouldn't work and the internet
would have been a lot less fun.
