ok, we are almost there.
however, *your* help is required to make the final steps.

a fixed version of puredata-extra (which provides the failing external)
is going to make it into ubuntu/focal.

because focal has been released a while ago, we need some feedback that
the fixed package is indeed working, before it will become available for
all focal-users.

if any of you are using Ubuntu/focal, i would ask you (very nicely) to
check whether the proposed fix works for you (and does not introduce any
new bugs).

how?
- install the "puredata" package and check whether you can actually
reproduce the problem (not being able to load any (or all) of [bonk~],
[choice], [fiddle~] or [sigmund~])
- enable the "focal-proposed" repository
please follow the official instructions on how to do that:
   https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed
- install the "puredata-extra" package from the "focal-proposed"
repository. on the cmdline this would be as simple as:
   `apt update && apt install puredata-extra/focal-proposed`
using synaptic or other GUI-tools is probably even simpler.
- check that you can now load (and use) all of [bonk~], [choice],
[fiddle~] or [sigmund~]

- finally (and please do not miss that): please report your success (or
failure) at https://launchpad.net/bugs/1939293

Ubuntu really wants user-feedback in order to let packages into an
LTS-release.
so if you are running Ubuntu/focal - even if you do not use the Ubuntu
packages for Pd¹ - please help you fellow users by confirming that the
fix works.

¹ if you normally do not use the Ubuntu packages, please make sure that
- when performing these tests - you *do* use the official packages.
