on the subject of oscillator banks, someone said that this method where you use oversampling and incrementingthe phase of a specific sample in the block can be more efficient than just using separate oscillators
(inspired by a characterization from one of miller's lectures):https://forum.puredata.info/topic/13327/additive-sine-synth-thinghaven't tested efficiency myself

Sure, I know her, but it's just an oscillator bank and it's awesome! The technical question still remains whether it can be called a 'phase vocoder'
