[PD] [OT] linux sound issues.

Hi all.

Not exactly PD related but pd is affected...

I've noticed this with xmms playing mp3s for a long time.  At some point the
sound gets distorted in a weird way (sounds like digital distortion).
Lately I was having the same problem with pd.  Sometimes when my patch send
a hot signal it distorts and stays like that.  Turning off and on dsp does
not help and I have to quit PD and start it again to gat nice clean signal.

I've got an ens1371 card, linux redHat 7.1, alsa 0.5.? and I usually run in
oss emulation (BTW, never managed to get pd to work directly with alsa, the
IO errors button stays red and reports problems with ADC and DAC block and
sync probs).

Anyone got an idea of what it is?
