hi,
i also would like to know about the problems or advantages of different
distributions. speaking for myself i use a suse 7.2 (with 2.4.4 kernel) which
are 7 CDs of software. it was easy to install, i didn't have problems to
compile Pd only gem used another glut-library (which was on the CD, but not
installed by default). and there are alsa 0.5-drivers for my (auto-detected
and configured) soundblaster-card. i don't know about installing drivers for
other cards (RME for example).
but I heard, Guenter is working on an own "multimedia/sound-distribution"(?).
marius.
