[PD-ot] Logarithmic representation of frequency

Hi

I am creating a GUI for a DSP filter effect (non PD) and I want to have
logarithmic representation of frequency. Right now the scale is liniar - so
half of the fader ranges from 10kHz to 20kHz. The total range of the fader
is 20 to 20kHz.

Does anybody have a magic formula on how to make the fader act more
"musically" (ie. the octaves have the same amount of space on the fader?
