[PD-ot] video playback software

dear list,

because i think a few among you are very knowledgeable about video/visuals
hard- and software i ask this question here, hoping somebody will point me
to something that fulfills my needs.

i'm searching for mac os 9/x software which does the following:
it should play back a video (quicktime/avi, dv-pal sized, no sound) on a
dual monitor / notebook-projector setup with the video on one screen (the
projector) while the other one (notebook-lcd) allows basic control over
the video like start/stop/pause and perhaps even a playlist type of queue.
also, the background of the playback screen should stay black when it
loads the file since i dont want the whole audience to see my desktop.

any ideas? or is that plain utopistic?
