usually you have ssh running on any reasonable linux machine.

then use:
scp localfile.ext remoteuser at host.domain:
or
scp remoteuser at host.domain:file.ext .
or
man scp

with key-exchange you don't even need a password.


of course you can use ips instead of fqdns
