[PD-ot] 64bit OS (was:Re: [PD] print all abstractions and externals)

  Since my question is a little bit out of pd topic, this one has been 
sent to pd-ot...

 I've tried linux X86_64 for three years with fedora kanotix and ubuntu,
 just because my new computers has 64bit cpu, and to see if there are 
better performances.

  Obviously I've encountered a lot of problems involved by this new 
technology, like recompiling programs with the good flags,
 making a chroot32 environment for closed-source software that has not 
64bit compatibility, and others I might have forgotten since,
 fortunately I've been learning a lot about computers during this 
adventure in the world of 64bit.

 At the end I stopped to use 64bit OS because I didn't see any 
difference with 32bit ones, I don't need more than 2Go of RAM, and pd 
isn't able to use all the processors of my amd dual core (I guess it 
would be the same with intel), also pd is not able to use  64bit integers.

  So my question is, is there a particular reason for using a 64bit OS? 
(given the fact that you are not maintaining binaries)
 Do you see any improvement in regard of 32bit?
