[PD-ot] Digital picture frame as computer display?

Hi everyone,

I'm considering buying a Raspberry Pi micro computer and i need a very
small display (and cheap too).
I've recently discovered that some people use their digital picture frame
as an external screen. It seems like it requires a driver to be installed.

Has anybody heard of that? I wonder why it requires a driver. And I guess
there's none available in Linux (?).
