[PD] microphone sampling

Hello,

i am quit knew to puredata and in the process of descovering its 
possiblities. Tonight I wanted to experiment with microphone input, 
instead I have spend all night googling for a how-to on using the mic in 
pd. I had no luck.
So I tried to test the mic myself and did,

[adc~]
|
[dac~]

  wich offcourse gave the expected behaviour..

Can somebody help me to understand how to get a mic input, and record it 
some how.
