A friend of mine (aptly named John Camera) has started working on the GEM
code recently with a focus mainly on Windows.  He has updated some of the
build stuff and a few internals to make it build/run on Win10 and latest
VS.

Also, he has expressed interest in attempting the GL ES port or looking
into WebGL.
