afaik, pdmtl abs are dependent on some externals and some of them are
specifically made for pdmtl abs. afaik, those were developed by tof and
are included in externals/tof. i don't see a need to put any c file into
the pdmtl folder itself, so this won't be a problem.

after all, i think too, that the abstractions folder should really only
contain abstractions.
