[PD-dev] 'externals' bug fixes before the pd-extended 0.41.4 branch

oops ... many apologies if (as it seems) I was holding up the show with
my quoting nightmare ;-)

in re: bugfixes: readdir is still not building on win32 (easy to fix,
maybe this weekend), flite seems to build almost nowhere but debian, and
the last I checked, a number of ubuntu flavors were flaking out (at
least with my stuff, but I think the builds were crashing before the
'moocow' target even got called).  that said, i certainly have no
objections to calling the current state of affairs a release candidate,
since I don't know when I'll get around to the fixes; when that happens,
I guess we can always point people at the daily builds for the
bleeding-edge...
