Please note that my localdeps.macos.sh does not deal with "universal" dependencies.

That is: if your dependency is already "fat", it will use it just fine.
But if your dependency library is only "thin" (eg x86_64 only), then the script will not magically embed a fat binary for you.

It seems it's pretty easy to build fat binaries even if your dependencies are only thin.
Esp. homebrew does not support building fat libraries, so if you used brew to install your dependencies you might miss some parts for a truly  universal package.
