New subscriber and question

Hi all. I'm new to this list. I just started using the PD package because
I'm keen to get working with a patching-type sound package and am basically
a wimp when it comes to installing Linux packages - so the Windows version
of PD looked, and is, very attractive. I'm already enjoying using it.

I notice from the documentation that there does not seem to be the range of
objects that can be found in MAX. Is this something that is being built upon
or is it merely that all the functionality is present in PD, except the user
must develop ways of doing things using the existing objects?

I'm keen to know because PD offers a nice way of building instruments.
