[PD] problems running pd/gem on suseppc

i m running pd/gem on a powerbook g3 with suseppc with ctwm as
windowmanager.
when i start pd, i have this failures: /dev/dsp (writeonly): Permission
denied
/dev/dsp (readonly): Permission denied
error failed to open Midiportsd; continuing without midi

i can start pd and open gem files, but when i create a gemwindow, there is
some memory failure and pd_gui: pd process exited

does anybody has an idea what the problem is ?
