Hi Scott,

there is a PDF document that explains nearly every line. It's written by
Theodor Stojanov. It should be available for download at
http://www.music.mcgill.ca/~theo/

To get simple examples or templates I would recomment to have a look at the
examples in Pd's doc/6.externs directory.
