[PD] DSP externals

      i'm going over the HOWTO on writing externals, and to tell you the
truth it's very difficult. my C/C++ skills are intermediate, and i'm
having a hell of a time figuring this stuff out. does anybody have any
simpler examples/templates?  or possibly more info on what's happening
behind the scenes and with each line of code? thanks,
