[PD] get MIDI to work

I had the same problem when I first started using midi, but it's not too
hard to fix.

At the command prompt (StartMenu >> Run >> cmd if you can't find it
easily ) while in the pd>bin directory you type :-

pd -midiindev 1

....and that starts pd with 'midi-in-device' number one.

No objects or subpatches are needed.

Or you can put pd -midiindev 1 in a text file and save it with a .bat
extension in the same directory as pd.exe and make a batch file that you can
run by double clicking it...easier

-midiindev is one of pd's many command line flags for starting the prog in
different ways... type pd -? to get a list of the various different flags
you can use to open the program in different ways...

Hope this helps
Sam .. a fellow noob
