My parapin external also read the pins; pins 10, 11, 12, 13 and 15 are 
permanent inputs,  pins 1, 2-9, 14 16 and 17 are either inputs or 
outputs. Pins 2-9 are the "data" pins, and are either all inputs or all 
outputs. I hope to release a first version of the external tonight...
